Peyman Moazzen, Independent Consulting Expert, Chartered Marine Civil Engineer
You have had 20+ years’ experience as a Marine Civil Engineer. What inspired you to enter this field of work?
I graduated with a BSc in Civil Engineering. Since then I have been working in the Oil & Gas industry and I have had the opportunity to visit export facilities in the form of jetties and berthing facilities. The overall mechanisms of planning, design and operations of such structures inspired me to continue my MSc in Marine Structures and so this field became my area of expertise.
Looking back at your career, what are you most proud of?
I have been selected to act as a senior and key decision maker as part of a project management team by most of my employers, who are all major employers in the port and marine industry. Because of my professional background and qualifications, I am confident in the value I can add to a project.
Tell us about the most challenging project you have worked on?
I have worked on a range of port and marine projects for many years, a few of them are highlighted below:
- International Cruise Terminal - Singapore
- Tuas Container Terminal - Singapore
- Manila New International Airport (Marine Package) - Philippines
- Dar es Salaam Maritime Gateway Program - Tanzania
